Naila received her Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University in 2010, where she earned numerous recognitions, including the Thurgood Marshall scholarship award and earned the distinction of a judicial clerkship in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Illinois. Naila received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. While completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a journalist with several media outlets, including CNN, The New York Times, NBC and Fox affiliates.
Naila is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association and was a member of the 2011 class of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Diversity Fellows Program.
Naila received recognition as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2012 – 2014, 2018 and 2019.
Naila was an integral member of the successful appellate and trial team in the precedential Illinois attorney fee disgorgement case, In re Marriage of Squire, 2015 IL App (2d) 150271 (2nd Dist.) (December 16, 2015).
Naila also co-authored an article “Collecting Past-due Support Obligations from Non-traditional Sources” and authored “Preservation of the Marital Estate for an Innocent Spouse. Both articles were published in the American Journal of Family Law.
Naila’s extensive experience communicating with clients in various contexts gives her a unique perspective on handling sensitive issues with care and personal attention. She understands that legal conflict can be emotionally and financially exhausting. Naila is seeking more than a “win”. She obtains cost-effective and practical solutions to minimize the devasting impact of litigation.
